One of my fish meals in Międzyzdroje (that is the name of the place in Poland where we have been) was a fish soup. I have to admit that I did not eat fish in this form often. There are a few places in Berlin where you can eat a good
bouillabaisse or Thai fish soup, but I never cooked one myself. Anyhow I was very happy to see that it is pretty common on the sea side. Well, why not try the polish version of it? I ordered and I’ve got a big bowl of soup, which was good, with 3 or 4 kinds of fish and you could really recognize them. Sweet–sour taste with fresh fish. For me it could be a bit more spicy – ok this one was not spicy at all – but it was good. With every spoon, I realize that I know this taste… maybe there is something different about it but the main taste is known… It took me about half of the bowl to find out what it is… It tasted quite similar to the canned fish (which you can get in every supermarket). It is a compliment, I like those little fishes in tomatoes sauce!!! It reminds me of summer camping!!! The only difference was that the soup didn’t have this light metal taste (and I am not upset about it) which can happen with the canned fish – do you know what I mean? Ok, I wouldn’t be myself if I would not found something to pick on. There were some fishbones – of course!!! Otherwise it would not have any taste – and I didn’t like the fish skin in my soup. I know what you want to say – all those things are important for a good taste of the soup – yes indeed. I will cook my own version of a fish soup and I will let you know how it went. And yes if this is going to be successful I will give you the recipe!!! For now I have a drawing of a fish soup which was in my head since I was thinking about “Drawing my meals”.
